Uganda produces Robustas and Arabicas which are grown organically. Robustas account for about 90% whereas Arabicas about 10% of a total of 4.2 million , 60 kg bags produced and exported annually. Uganda’s Arabicas are famous for their taste and aroma and feature prominently in international markets as speciality coffees(Gourmet coffee) Uganda’s Robustas are equally competitive in the word markets. They occupy a special role in blends, soluble coffee and are mostly traded as premiums and often preferred as substitutes for low quality Arabicas.
