TEA:

Tea is the third most important cash crop grown in southern, western and central Uganda. Due to her good climatic, natural fertile soils and high altitude, Uganda produces one of the best Teas in the world. Majority of the tea is grown on plantations/estates holdings, the remainder being on small holder out growers. Currently total area under tea cultivation is 20,500 hectares with prospect of this being doubled in the next ten years. By 2000 about 30 million kg of tea was exported.
