Ministry Of  Tourism in Uganda

The overall planning and development of Uganda’s tourism industry is the responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry. This is done either directly at the Ministry or indirectly though parastatals and subsidiary bodies established by statute under the Ministry.

The Ministry is developing guidelines and regulations for the tourism sector such as tour guides, Eco tourism development, Hotels and restaurants, Travel agents, Tour operators and Camp sites development among others. The Tourism Bill has recently been enacted. So in a bid to implement this act, the Ministry plans to support the restructuring of the new Tourism Board by contributing to the Development Fund, refurbishment and equipping of new offices.
